Our mission: Resource and experience sharing as a tool towards global education and equity

Reach of the GNN

The GNN is the first community of practice and educational repository developed specifically for neuroanatomy educators. Membership is open to all full- and part-time educators that teach neuroanatomy, regardless of geographic location, institutional affiliation, or student population. All resources are adaptable so they can be incorporated into any session, course, or curriculum.  The peer-reviewed resources curated by the GNN are truly available for all educators.

Expanding the global footprint of neuroanatomy content

There are numerous benefits to contributing to the GNN. First and foremost, you would be sharing your knowledge and teaching expertise with colleagues across the globe. As a user, you would have access to innovative educational material to incorporate into your teaching. You would also help bridge gaps in content and instructional techniques at a global level, particularly for educators with limited time or means to develop materials independently. Finally, your willingness to help other neuroanatomy educators represents the highest level of collegiality and service to our profession.

Submission Requirements

Much like a journal provides author guidelines, we have created checklists and frequently asked questions to guide GNN contributors with the submission of clinical cases and any other teaching resources.

Peer Review Process

As a community of practice, each clinical case or teaching resource will be peer-reviewed before being published on the GNN website.  In addition to maintaining the accuracy and consistency within the GNN repository, the peer-review process will ensure that appropriate ethical approvals and de-identification exist.
